Maria Coyne by Mark Johnson

I've decided to do my own response to this, it's taken me ages to chose who to do the blog on, but I've decided to feature my theatre fave as Maria Coyne.

When did you first discover your performer?
In the Rocky Horror Show tour of 2012/13, I found and followed all the cast on twitter when they were announced, saw the first first in Brighton on 30th December '12 and then met Maria first time in September and then a few times after that in Leicester and Wolverhampton.

Have you seen them perform live if so in what shows?
I have seen her perform, sadly only in Rocky Horror thus far but look forward in the future to seeing her perform a lot in the future.

How would you describe them to your fellow theatre fans?
An incredible lady, who is genuine and inspiring. She's a joy to follow and support, she's simply a good person, she is kind and great fun. She has a huge voice and so much talent. I think she's going to be a big star and gain a big following, she certainly deserves it.

Favourite performance?
Well I've watched her video as Magenta and she was wonderful, sadly never got to see her do it live, so I guess my fave performance for now is her as a Phantom as it's the only one I've seen her do live.

Favourite song you've heard them perform?
Probably the above video or Maria singing 'Science Fiction Double Feature' from Rocky Horror.

Have you met them?
I have, as mentioned earlier, first met her in Nottingham after Rocky then again in Leicester a couple of times that week and then on the last two nights of the tour in Wolverhampton. She's always been lovely, especially Wolverhampton when she was rushing around putting things in her car. She didn't have to make time for people yet she did.

I'm not even really sure what was going on here...
What show would you like to see them in?
She HAS to be in the stage adaptation of Frozen when that comes along. I'd love to see her play Arwen in the stage version of Lord Of The Rings. Mary Poppins, Truly Scrumptious (Chitty) and Sherrie in Rock Of Ages. To be honest I'd just love to see her leading a show, a person with that much talent should and will be a strong leading lady.
